PLAYER TIPS

STUDY THE RULES
Being intimately familar with the rules is not nessassary, however a basic understanding of the system and the rules which effect your character is desireable.

REMEMBER THAT THE REAL YOU AND YOUR GAME PERSONA ARE DIFFERENT
The you in the game is entirely different from the you of the real world. Your character may possess many of the traits present in your own personality, but it is still not the you of the real world. And as such the other players characters are not themselves. Keep in mind the character may not have anything in common with the player who plays it.

KNOW YOUR TEAMS PCs ANDTHOSE WHO PLAY THEM
The only way to get along in the group is to be familiar with the other characters and the players who control them.  Take time to learn about each other, so that you can better understand and apprectiate their intentions and methods and in so doing, become more a useful integral part of the group yourself.

KNOW THE CAMPAIGN IN WHICH YOU PLAY
My campaign is a unique entity unto itself. Accept and assimulate all the information given to you by the GM about the game world, and always strive to learn more.  Knowledge is power, knowledge leads to success. The rules may have been changed or removed entirely from those in the rule books in order to give Drythlor a personallity of its own.

ROLE-PLAY YOUR CHARACTER FULLY AND CORRECTLY
Make sure that your actions, decisions, and behavior as a player are faithful to the role of the character you are playing. When you have a trait or tendency your character does not possess, do your best to keep that aspect of your personal makeup from surfacing during play.

ALWAYS SEEK TO CONTRIBUTE THE MOST TO THE TEAM'S SUCCESS
From the players' and the characters' standpoint, role playing is a group endeavor. Individual success is secondary to the success of the group, for only through group achievements can the individual character hope to survive in the wild places of Kirrac.

PUT FORTH YOUR PERSONAL BEST DURING PLAY
The advice above does not mean that you should ever compromise in your efforts to succeed as a player. Your character may have to put aside its individual desires from time to time to ensure the general wellfare of the party, but that is as it should be, and this does not mean you should ever allow your enthusiasm and drive as a player to lesson.

UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF THE GM AND ASSIST ITS FULFILLMENT
The GM is the sole arbiter of all that goes on in the campaign world, but all powerful in this case does not mean all knowing; no GM can succeed without the willing assistance of all the players.

OFFER SUGESTIONS TO THE GM
The GM doesn't always know what his players want or need. If you have any questions, comments, or disputes with the decisons made during a gaming session feel free to speak to the GM before or after a session, or anytime through out the week.
