Classes
This section describes how the core classes from the Dungeons & Dragons Player’s Handbook function in the game, and also describes a number of prestige classes unique to the Baenrahl setting. Not all of the core classes are available to players in the Baenrahl setting, but three new classes; Champion, Herald, and Templar have been added to fill the roles of the unavailable classes.
New Core Classes
This section presents three new core classes unique to the setting. The champion is a devote warrior protected and strengthened by an array of blessings from his Regent. The Herald is a spell-caster trained in the heraldic tradition who combines physical and mental training with a mastery of spells. Templars are masters of divine magic and capable warriors dedicated to preserving the status of the regents.
- Champion: A warrior in the service of his Regent, protected and strengthened by an array of divine powers.
- Herald: A knight dedicated to fighting the Regents, a master swordsman and powerful magician.
- Templar: A priest in the service of his Regent, a master of divine magic and a capable warrior as well.
Core Classes
Most of the classes presented in the Player’s Handbook have a role in the Baenrahl setting. Some are linked closely to a specific race, culture, or regent, while others span a range of options.
- Barbarian: A ferocious warrior from the uncivilized lands who uses fury and instinct to bring down foes.
- Bard: A performer whose music works magic-a wanderer, a tale-teller, and a jack-of-all-trades.
- Druid: An enemy of the regents who draws energy from the natural world to cast divine spells and gain strange magical powers.
- Fighter: A warrior with exceptional combat capability and unequaled skill with weapons.
- Monk: A martial artist whose unarmed strikes hit fast and hard-a master of exotic powers.
- Ranger: A cunning, skilled warrior of the wilderness.
- Rogue: A tricky, skillful scout and spy who wins the battle by stealth rather than brute force.
- Sorcerer: A spellcaster with inborn magical ability.
- Wizard: A potent spellcaster schooled in the arcane arts.
Unused Core Classes
The following core classes are not usable in the Baenrahl setting.

- Paladin: Each of the twelve regents has individuals who are devoted to their cause; these champions replace the traditional Paladin from the Player’s Handbook. See Champion for more.
- Psion: There are no psionics in the Baenrahl setting and as such this character class is not available.
- Psychic Warrior: There are no psionics in the Baenrahl setting and as such this character class is not available.
