Tasha got me Dragon NaturallySpeaking for Christmas. I’m still training it to recognize my voice, but I thought it would be interesting to compose this blog post using just that software. I have about a half page of gibberish and nonsense sitting about above what I’ve got here. Before I realize. There seems to be a problem with it recognizing the realize that the with ED 80 the… To continue on… That the television was getting picked up by the microphone and I was causing raw a problem. I’m hoping that as I learn it. It will better pick up my punctuation. Having the punctuate each sentence verbally is a little weird. I guess I could get used to that, assuming that this ends up being faster than my whopping 30 words a minute I try to think type. It also seems a little slow. The program says that I can continue to talk and it will catch up to me, but I find that not seeing the words on the page. As I’m saying them is a bit distracting.

In 2011. I read/listen to 94 audio books everything from bad astronomy a science book to a process of Mars classic planetary fiction. That’s 14 less than we did. That’s 14 fewer books than I listen to last year, but I’m not sure about the given length of of any but the books I read. In addition, all. So this is kind of a disjointed rambling, due mostly to the fact that I’m not used to dictate to machine and keep getting sidetracked and doing my own correction after getting were talking. So with the coming new year and my ‘reboot’ of this website I’ve taken action to ensure that this page does not go ignored. I have grabbed the WordPress app, which will allow me to post from anywhere and, as such, remove one more excuse from posting. This post is being written from my phone somewhere in Grand Rapids.

I tried a couple Google calendar plug-ins, but one didn’t work quite right and the other was kind of ugly, so I tried the actual Google code and that gave me problems too. So now I’ve decided to go with the WP plugin, Ajax Event Calendar. So far so good.

I’ve got to figure out how to get it set-up exactly how I want it, but it’s doing what it’s supposed to. And I’ve got to dig into the code for the pages and figure out what needs to happen for me to get my individual pages to display wider. There is just too damn much blank space on either side of the text/image/calendar. It’s a work in progress. I’ve got to do it all myself because I don’t have a web guru to handle this stuff for me.

The remodeling continues.

I’m reworking the site. Getting rid of the old to make way for the new, more focused content. Okay, so the old is just moving over to the other site, the less focused site. The plan is to have this site, RonnMcCarrick.com, be the site dedicated to my writing and any public persona that should arise from that endevour. This will be focused on and dedicated to that career/aspiration. All the other stuff will be found at my other site, arohen.com.

There will probably be occasional changes and updates here, but my plan is to ‘go live’ with this relaunched site on January 1, 2012.
